Why Self-Assessment Helps You Love Your Life

Why Self-Assessment Helps You Love Your Life

On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being extraordinary), how much do you LOVE your life right now?

If it’s less than 10 (which it usually is for most humans), take a moment & share that rating in the comments below!

And you know what?

If you have a rating less than 10 it means that YOU are in need of self-rescue!

Why?

Because at the end of the day, the person responsible for filling in what’s missing in your life is YOU, my friend. :)

In fact, the self-assessment question above is one I’ve used hundreds of times over with both myself & my clients over the years & is something I’ve found to be a simple yet POWERFUL self-assessment tool.

In fact, I can usually figure out for myself or others what’s missing in their life along with an action they can take to fill in what’s missing in 10 minutes or less by asking this powerful question, which comes in pretty handy when I need to coach myself or someone else into greatness.

Think about it…

Assessing where you are now helps you identify what’s missing, which helps you identify what you REALLY want, which then motivates you into action to fix & correct what’s not working & also helps to create what you really desire!

At the end of the day, regular self-assessment that measures your current level of happiness in any given moment is exactly what will help you learn how to love your life. :)

How do I know?

Because honestly, this simple yet powerful self-assessment tool has changed my personal life significantly over the years.

You see…

In my 20’s & 30’s I struggled with anger management issues, anxiety, depression & physical back pain so bad I almost had surgery for it. I was also 40 pounds overweight & operating from a mindset of lack, scarcity failure & victimhood, despite my financial success & 8 years of higher education that I had worked so hard for.

At that time of my life, I would’ve rated my life at a level 3 or 4 due to all the emotional, mental & physical health issues I was struggling with!

Fortunately, I started working with a mentor in my mid-30’s who taught everyone he worked with how to use this self-assessment question to transform their life so they could become their very own hero.

I loved the self-assessment question & the concept of becoming my very own hero, so on 10/5/2005 (I distinctly remember the exact moment & date!) I committed to taking back control & responsibility for my own life & started using this question regularly to measure my own life & progress along the way.

With repetition, grit, determination & perseverance I slowly began to fill in what was missing, correct what wasn’t working & create what I REALLY wanted & desired.

As a result of those efforts, I was able to heal the physical, mental & emotional health issues I was struggling with & I created a business & a life that now allows me to help others do the same.

I can say with certainty that this type of regular self-assessment GREATLY contributed to me being more responsible for my own happiness, more resilient in the face of obstacles & challenges, & more motivated to become my very own hero & create a life that I LOVE.

All of which, by the way, is vital to mastering the art of self-rescue!

Now, almost 20 years later I am happy say that I’ve been measuring my life pretty consistently at a level 9 for the past 2 years & although it still dips down from time to time due to challenges or experiences that arise, it’s a self-assessment question that I consistently come back to over & over again.

Not only that, but I created a self-care assessment tool that uses this self-assessment approach that can measure your happiness in 12 different areas of your life so you can narrow down your efforts & know exactly which area of your life to focus on FIRST since you can’t fix everything at once, am I right? :)

This self-care assessment will give you a snapshot of where you are now & will then become a road map for greatness that will motivates & inspires you into regular & consistent action to create what you REALLY desire.

So with this in mind, I have a question for you to consider…

Are you ready to love your life at a level 10?
