Why Self-Rescue Helps You Go From Wounded to Whole

Why Self-Rescue Helps You Go From Wounded to Whole

I’m curious, what does the term “self-rescue” mean to you personally?

Think about it for a moment & then define in your own words in the comments below what you think it might mean.

I’d love to hear your definition! :)

Speaking for myself personally, my definition of self-rescue began forming in my early 30’s, when I was faced with a proverbial midlife crisis that left me in a physical, mental & emotional shambles.

Childhood wounds, inner saboteurs & a limiting belief that I had to work “hard” to prove my value & worth in my high-stress corporate career (while completing my undergrad & graduate degrees!) during my 20’s is what led me into deep-seated patterns of self-abandonment, self-sacrifice & self-sabotage.

When my early midlife crisis happened, I played the victim to all of it by blaming everyone else but myself for my physical & mental disintegration & emotional unhappiness.

You see…

In my young, wounded mind I was focusing externally on the problem.

It was my family, my friends, my husband, my job, my employees, etc… that were responsible for what wasn’t working in my life!

Well, as you might imagine, blaming everyone else for my issues didn’t work very well (after all, our external world is often a mirror for something that’s not working or missing in our internal world) & it didn’t take long for me to realize that it was actually ME that was the problem.

Why?

In a nutshell, because I was never taught the importance of self-care & self-support by my single father (how would he know?!), I had successfully abandoned, sacrificed & sabotaged myself into my very own midlife crisis.

And, by turning my attention inward to see what my own part was in what wasn’t working, I realized it was ultimately me not knowing how to care for & support myself that had led me into disrepair & dis-ease in my body, mind & spirit.

In fact, I realized that in order for me to live my life from a place of wholeness (vs. the broken wounded-ness I’d been playing out in my life thus far), I would have to take FULL responsibility for taking care of myself, healing my life & overcoming the inner saboteurs that were holding me back.

And this is where my journey with self-rescue really began.

From that moment forward, I committed myself to learning & mastering what I thought would lead me from wounded-ness to wholeness…

Something I now call today SELF-RESCUE. :)

And after a couple of years of practicing & teaching self-rescue, I began to experience & master first-hand other amazing benefits of self-rescue, such as…

Self-discovery

Self-growth

Self-direction

Self-support

Self-correction

Self-care

Self-healing

Self-renewal

Self-care

Self-restraint

Self-regulation

Self-motivation

Self-alignment

Self-compassion

Self-trust

Self-love

Self-reliance

ALL of which were skills I’d never learned when I younger & was having to learn from scratch the hard way!

And you know what?

I’m SO grateful for all of that pain I went through & having to learn the hard way how to take better care of myself, heal my life & overcome what was holding me back because now I can pass along the lessons & wisdom I’ve gained to the worn out working wonder women I help & serve in my business.

Imagine for a moment if you could….

– Better understand yourself & why you are the way you are

– Better understand & relate to others

– Identify & take action toward your deepest dreams & desires

– Clarify & align to the core values, passions & purpose that mean the most to you

– Fix & correct what’s not working in your life with greater ease & grace

– Gain gratitude, growth & grace from everything that comes your way

– Have greater empathy & compassion for yourself & others

– Be more resilient to all that life brings your way

– Manage your boundaries & energy more effectively

– Fill in what’s missing & create what you desire

– Heal the trauma & wounds that keep you stuck in the pain of the past

– Overcome the inner saboteurs that hold you down & back

– Understand how to master anything you desire

– Feel energized, vibrant & excited about your life

– Stand strong in your power even when you’re afraid

– Feel courageous, authentic & whole, despite hard times, obstacles & mistakes

All of the above is how I would define what “self-rescue” means to me & what I teach to my clients today.

In a nutshell, self-rescue is the ability to take responsibility for correcting whatever’s not working well in your life & creating what you really desire.

In fact, I believe whole-heartedly that a commitment to self-rescue is what accelerates your ability to live a life of WHOLENESS where you can overcome the wounds of the past & feel really good about yourself, your efforts & the life you’re creating.

In other words… a brave-hearted life that you LOVE! :)

And you know what?

Learning how to master the art of self-rescue doesn’t have to take the 20 years it took me OR be hard for you like it was for me.

So with this in mind, I have a question for you …

Does any of the following apply to you?

– You often feel stressed & overwhelmed by all that you have to do.

– You’re tired of over-giving to the point of self-sacrifice.

– You have a hard time focusing & staying on track with your projects & attention.

– You often feel exhausted by trying to get everything done just “right”.

– You’re experiencing physical or emotional discomfort in your body due to a lack of self-care.

– You feel out of balance & deeply challenged by setbacks & mistakes.

– You’re super hard on yourself & others to the point of sabotage.

– You doubt your greatness despite having a powerful message or gift to share with the world.

– You’re feeling misunderstood or unappreciated by people in your life.

– You feel alone & unsupported with all that you have to do.

– You’re struggling with anxiety or depression that leaves you feeling burned out & miserable at the end of the day.

– You’re struggling with feelings of bitterness & resentment because there’s never enough time to take care of YOU.

– You feel a deep-seated lack of fulfillment that sucks the radiance right out of your soul.

– You’re experiencing physical & emotional degradation such as depression, anxiety, auto-immune disorders, cognitive dysfunction, organ breakdown, etc…

If you said yes to any of the above, YOU might be in need of a self-rescue!

And, if you’re ready to overcome what no longer serves you so you can live, love, lead & work in a way that leads to brave-hearted courage, authenticity & wholeness, I can show you a faster, easier way to become your very own hero! :)
